When was the last time you saw something truly unique online?

For me, its been a while. Maybe weeks? Probably months. Unfortunately, so much of the internet has slowly evolved towards average. Clear CTAs, predictable formats, and expected content. All of this made easier and worse with the advent of generative AI: just type a prompt and get a decent website.

(Or, in some situations, just paste a link of a website you like and get a near perfect copy to start your new project with in only a few seconds! Technology really is amazing.)

And yet, this shouldn't be a surprise: entropy is the preferred state of all energy, including creative. So, even the kingdom of life we've created that is technology, there's always going to be downward pressure for homeostasis. For balance. For normal.

With that in mind, I believe that it's the rebellion against the heat death of the universe that is what makes life beautiful.

"Technology and life must share some fundamental essence. [...] However you define life, its essence does not reside in material forms like DNA, tissue, or flesh, but in the intangible organization of the energy and information contained in those material forms. [...] Both life and technology seem to be based on the immaterial flows of information. [...] Because the technium is an outgrowth of the human mind, it is also an outgrowth of life and by extension it is also an outgrowth of the physical and chemical self-organization that first led to life."

– Kevin Kelly, What Technology Wants

And so, creating this website(s)—each page it's own TLD because I can—is my love letter to the strangeness of what the internet used to be.
